BREAKING: Trump Reveals Who Leaked Iranian Intelligence Report To Liberal Outlets
President Donald Trump suggested Thursday that Democrat lawmakers are responsible for leaking top secret intelligence about last week’s strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
“The Democrats are the ones who leaked the information on the PERFECT FLIGHT to the nuclear sites in Iran,” the president posted on Truth Social. “They should be prosecuted!”
The post comes as the Pentagon, along with assistance from the FBI, is actively working to identify the source of leaks about a preliminary Central Command battle damage assessment. At least one anonymous source leaked the information, which was preliminary, to CNN and the New York Times.
Both outlets have claimed that “early U.S. intelligence assessments” indicate that the strikes were not as effective as previously thought. “The analysis of the damage to the sites and the impact of the strikes on Iran’s nuclear ambitions is ongoing, and could change as more intelligence becomes available. But the early findings are at odds with President Donald Trump’s repeated claims that the strikes “completely and totally obliterated” Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities,” CNN reported.
In addition, the reports have claimed that the strikes on Iran’s Fordow uranium enrichment site — the heavily-fortified facility that was targeted by multiple bunker buster bombs — caused largely surface-level damage and can be re-built relatively quickly.
Senior members of the Trump Administration, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard and CIA Director John Ratcliffe have thoroughly debunked the reports by noting that the assessment in question was merely preliminary.
The Pentagon, in conjunction with the FBI, will be probing who had access to a report by the Defense Intelligence Agency, its intelligence arm, Hegseth told reporters.
“When you talk to people who built the bombs, understand what those bombs can do and deliver those bombs, they landed precisely where they were supposed to,” Hegseth said.
“So it was a flawless mission … Any assessment that tells you something otherwise is speculating with other motives. And we know that because when you actually look at the report — by the way, it was a top secret report — it was preliminary, it was low confidence. All right. … And we believe far more likely severe and obliterated. So this is a political motive here.”
In response to the relentless pushback and disclosure of additional information, CNN has been quietly walking back the explosive claims in its initial report. Brett McGurk, a CNN global affairs analyst and former diplomat, went so far as to assert that President Trump’s planned operation “worked flawlessly.”
“These massive [bombs], with significant computer software engineering, went directly down to those three ventilated shafts specifically as designed,” he said Thursday. “It worked. It seems it worked flawlessly.”
McGurk further noted that the Pentagon’s battle damage assessment is not yet complete and will continue to develop in the coming days.
